les fruits de la mer.

This week's tunes adhered to a specifically oceanic theme, exhibiting a musical interpretation of all things under (and occasionally above or around, i suppose) the sea. Nothing like grooving to a seaworthy playlist, really.

elizabeth cotton - honey babe
beat happening - down at the sea
the go-betweens - man o'sand to girl o'sea
maher shalal - seal and seagulls
peppermint circus - keeping my head above water
galaxie 500 - tugboat
immaculate machine - c'mon sea legs
the magnetic fields - deep sea diving suit
miracle fortress - beach baby
radio thailand - giant catfish fry
jonathan richman - i had a dream that the sea was calling me home
the chills - ocean ocean
pinback - good to sea
the shangri-las - remember (walkin' in the sand)
lou barlow - yawning blue messiah
orange juice - salmon fishing in new york
cleaners from venus - a blue wave
the carter family - sinking in the lonesome sea
battles - atlas
why? - sanddollars
tyrannosaurus rex - the sea beasts
benoit pioulard - sous la plage
the black lips - o katrina!
justice - waters of nazareth
close lobsters - sewer pipe dream
brian eno - mother whale eyeless
elf power - visions of the sea
the sea urchins - pristine christine
the books - dead fish gains the power of observation
belle & sebastian - ease your feet in the sea
pixies - wave of mutilation

In relation to the illustration above, I hope that this playlist was a metaphorical tentacle around your unsuspecting ears...in the most positive sense, of course.
